Being able to effectively shadow box means you're able to train anywhere and keep training fresh as you can change your workout, focus points and techniques each time.
When training keep your activities specific to your desired outcome, as an example if you are looking to improve your striking for MMA incorporate shadow wrestling into your bag work.
Throw the same technique more than once so your opponent becomes conditioned to the response and then throw the fake and switch the technique. Used across different sports and acts as a way to interrupt an opponents reaction time as they are unable to respond automatically and have to then think about what you are doing. The more experienced the athlete/competitor the more susceptible they are to the fake due to conditioning.
